Extravagant chokers, bejeweled rings, or eye-catching bangles and cuffs are just a few offerings of South African jewelry designer Perline “Pearl” Naidoo. Inspired by her Indian roots and South African upbringing, Pearl’s remarkable talent in jewelry design presents the fashion world with statement pieces that are exotic yet wallet friendly.

Born into a creative family, Pearl followed her creative muse and began her career in jewelry design without any formal training or education. She honed her skills through keen observation and countless hours learning the techniques of her craft.

Pearl’s career took an upswing when she became the assistant to designer and stylist Kythe Brewster and had the opportunity to work with Tony Cohen, Cynthia Bailey (Real Housewives of Atlanta), Lucy Lui, Beyonce, Rav 6, and the Danny Rodriguez agency, to name a few . . . and the rest as they say is history.

Pearl Naidoo’s jewelry collection has been featured in numerous publications including Fuzion Magazine, Latino Show, Vogue Italia, Fashion Avenue News, and I-Fashion Magazine. Pearl’s work synthesizes her life long fascination with beautiful jewelry; each piece in her jewelry line is rich in symbolism, bold in style and simply irresistible to wear. Truly a fashionista’s dream accessory!

Pearl’s latest adventure is the February 2013 launch of her DENKAY clothing line during New York Couture Fashion Week. She also continues to work with several non-profit organizations including Step it Africa, which collects shoes for children in need in Haiti; Glamour Girls in the City, an NYC-based organization that offers beauty services to the elderly, and Synch Now.

Pearl has big plans to expand her jewelry and clothing internationally . . . and International Fashionistas is keen to follow her progress.
